What did you notice?
Gummy- page 21— might not even have considered gifts (realized gift of evangelism - had often thought couldn’t do it because doesn’t like talking to people)
“I can do all things through him who gives me strength”
Shalom - the world as it all should be (there is a way that the world should be); come into shalom with the body
Sour Patch- is running the Broad Street Marathon
Discussion Questions:
1) Describe a time when you felt like you just weren’t enough or a time when you felt like something was missing or flawed in you.
Reeses a lot of the time feel like not good enough, not adequate to get something done/ to do something
Sour Patch: feels like good at faking being good (imposter syndrome), worship leading (she does have the spiritual and musical components
Gummy - feels like not doing enough
M&M: doesn’t always believe she’s in the right place, that people believe she is right for work

 2. Describe times when you feel like you were chasing after the next thing

Sour Patch - usually just has goals, conquer EPA
- task list for life/work (has helped her find direction)
-feels like slow, no direction in Ph.D, trapped, feels like golden boy who has not lived up to expectations

Gummy- happy where she i

Reeses-feels at peace, even though wishes it were summer, done with Teach for America

M&M - last time July-October (felt like things were all good); feels like want to get Ph.D and get job

3. If someone were to give you a piece of paper, would you write down more of your strengths or weaknesses?

Sour Patch- about the same list, but the weaknesses hurt mor

Why weakness more? Wholeness thing - you want to be more

Gummy- write down your accomplishments - don’t take for granted

M&M - would write down your weaknesses; her parents will say things in anger (even though they would be the first to say great things about her)—self condemn herself into a whole

(social messages, by parents)

4. Where have you heard messages about what women ought to be like?

M&M - wife needs to be able to clean, cook, etc (Afraid will make her seem less attractive to me), Gentleness, guai (spiritual thing), feels like the black sheep/ the problem child

Sour Patch - mother is the “perfect wife” - cooks, cleans, sews curtains, women has to be very sweet

Reeses- domestication, cooking as another plus

Prayer Requests

Sour Patch - training for the run, wedding planning + wedding for sister (can we forgo flowers for an elephant?)

M&M-work, loneliness-would like a roommate, boyfriend

Gummy- health

Reeses - boyfriend and law school
